    We are offering an immediate employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a Collections Specialist, you will be expected to handle accounts receivables, billing functions, and sales tax matters. Your role will also involve liaising with large companies using payment portals and managing purchase orders.


    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct business-to-business collections and ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.

    • Handle accounts receivable and track down paperwork for manual processes.

    • Assist with billing functions and determine taxable items for invoicing.

    • Manage purchase orders, including obtaining POs from plants and coordinating with accounts payable for payment status.

    • Use accounting software systems for job cost tracking and anticipate a transition to a new software system.

    • Navigate and operate within payment portals.

    • Understand and apply knowledge of liens where applicable.

    • Assist with sales tax matters, including identifying taxable items.

    • Use Microsoft Excel for various tasks related to AR and billing.

    • Escalate and handle issues as required, balancing both assertive and diplomatic approaches.

    • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

    • Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)

    • Experience with Billing Functions

    • Knowledge of Collection Processes

    • Familiarity with handling Purchase Orders

    • Ability to manage Invoice Approvals

    • Understanding of Sales Tax implications

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

    • Experience with Job Cost calculations
