We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in Camden, South Carolina. As a Payroll Clerk, you will be a key player in our accounting team, with a focus on payroll processing and managing tax returns. This role is particularly suited for individuals who are proficient in various accounting software systems and have a strong understanding of payroll processes.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage payroll processing activities to ensure timely and accurate payment to staff
• Utilize Paycom and other accounting software systems to streamline payroll processes
• Handle payroll tax returns and reporting, ensuring compliance with local payroll tax regulations
• Use Microsoft Excel and Excel formulas to manage and analyze payroll data
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries from staff, providing clear and accurate information
• Conduct audits of payroll processes to identify and rectify any discrepancies
• Manage accounts payable (AP) as part of overall accounting functions
• Utilize knowledge of general ledger as a plus, though not a mandatory requirement
• Process biweekly payroll and handle any payroll adjustments due to inclement weather or PTO
• Oversee benefit functions related to payroll, including deductions and contributions
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and operate independently in the role.
• Able to work a PART TIME Monday-Wednesday Schedule (Remote)
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with About Time software
• Solid understanding of Accounting Functions
• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Familiarity with Auditing procedures
• Knowledge of Benefit Functions
• Ability to use Paycom software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Excel Formulas
• Knowledge of General Ledger operations
• Understanding of Payroll Taxes
• Experience in Payroll Tax Reporting
• Ability to manage Payroll Tax Returns
• Familiarity with Local Payroll Tax regulations
• Experience in processing Biweekly Payroll
• Ability to accurately Process Payroll
