Job Summary: The Billing Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hospital's revenue cycle and billing operations. This position ensures efficient, accurate, and timely billing, collections, and reimbursement processes. The Director will lead a team of professionals to optimize the hospital's revenue cycle, improve financial performance, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage the revenue cycle team, including billing, coding, collections, and patient financial services.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue cycle processes and performance.
- Provide training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for staff.
- Financial Operations:
- Oversee the billing and collections process to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payment.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop action plans to address any areas of concern.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of risk.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to revenue cycle operations.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the hospital's financial assets.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure the accuracy and integrity of billing and coding practices.
- Patient Experience:
- Oversee the patient financial services team to ensure a positive patient experience with billing and collections.
- Address and resolve patient billing inquiries and disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to streamline revenue cycle processes and improve overall hospital operations.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership regarding revenue cycle performance, challenges, and opportunities.
