Our Austin-based client is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in Node.js and TypeScript to join our development team. In this role you will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript, as well as a passion for building robust and efficient web applications.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient server-side applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with backend logic.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
- Build and manage RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Implement and maintain automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
- Optimize application performance for speed and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring the reliability and stability of applications.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions that meet business needs.
- Stay current with new trends, technologies, and best practices in software development.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer or Backend Developer with a focus on Node.js and TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Experience with building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with asynchronous programming, event-driven architectures, and concurrency patterns.
- Experience working with databases (SQL/NoSQL) such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
