We are on the lookout for a Legal Secretary to join our client's team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including the transcription of legal documents and conducting legal secretary. This position requires candidates who can type above 75 words per minute.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately transcribe legal documents, reports, and correspondence from dictation using dictation equipment and shorthand skills.
• Draft, edit, and finalize various legal documents like pleadings and motions.
• Manage multiple tasks and prioritize them to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
• Keep office files, supplies, and records well-organized and up-to-date.
• Prepare and file legal documents with courts and other relevant entities.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders about case updates and information requests.
• Uphold client confidentiality and ensure all procedures are adhered to in accordance with legal standards.
• Proficient in dictation, with the ability to accurately transcribe spoken words swiftly. (75+ WPM)
• Demonstrable experience with dictation equipment, ensuring efficient capture and transcription of legal discussions.
• Prior experience in transcription is preferred, showcasing the ability to convert spoken or recorded information into written format.
• Mastery of shorthand is necessary, enabling quick note-taking during fast-paced legal proceedings.
