Communications/Public Relations Director Job Description

The public relations director develops, manages and directs public relations and corporate communications activities. This professional builds relationships with media contacts and works with company executives to create an overall public relations strategy. The public relations director may serve as the chief spokesperson for the firm, helping to mitigate potentially harmful publicity through effective crisis management. This position requires seven or more years of public relations experience, as well as outstanding writing and verbal skills. A journalism or agency background may be preferred.
