George Denlinger, pictured above, is an operational president at Robert Half. He leads Robert Half’s technology, marketing and creative talent solutions in the United States. The original version of this article was published in Half Times, the digital magazine for Robert Half employees.
Career rewards have grown exponentially for George Denlinger over the 21 years he has worked at Robert Half. An operational president, George is an integral member of our senior leadership team — and he’s worn many other hats at the company over the last two decades.
“It’s been an incredible journey,” George says. “I always knew I wanted to work for a company with a strong reputation, and Robert Half’s company values were very attractive. We put integrity in front of what we do every day. That, combined with our strong brand and leadership — and the best people — is what pulled me in and has kept me here all this time.”
George got his start at Robert Half in 1998 as a recruiter in Salt Lake City. Previously, he worked at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), a federal agency that helps businesses owned by Latino, Asian, Black and Indigenous entrepreneurs grow and become more competitive. He says his time at the MBDA remains a top career highlight, but he was ready to do more.
Moving over to talent solutions was the perfect fit, according to George. “What I loved about working for MBDA was helping people achieve their goals and dreams — it got me really excited,” he says. “I found a foot in the door at Robert Half, and I’ve been helping people ever since.”
A long career — and an array of diverse opportunities
George’s career at Robert Half has ranged from branch manager in Denver for our technology, marketing and creative, and legal businesses, to a regional director role in Minnesota in 2005. In 2009, he transitioned to regional director for Robert Half’s technology and marketing and creative operations across several states, including Colorado, Missouri and Oklahoma.
From 2011 to 2016, as a senior district director for the United States and Canada, George was instrumental in helping to grow Robert Half’s legal practice group. He also contributed significantly to the launch of our company’s legal consulting practice.
Before stepping into his current position in September 2022, George served as an operational president overseeing operations for more than 60 of our branch locations in the central United States.
It’s been a career journey with many paths, but George says he has enjoyed it — and still is, in fact. “I’m probably more passionate about the work we do than I’ve ever been,” he says. “To be successful at Robert Half, you have to have a unique combination of skills. You have to enjoy helping people, that is number one. And we hire — I would argue — the best people in any industry. That’s what’s kept my passion so high.”
An advocate for collaboration across our enterprise, George cites his partnership with global consulting firm Protiviti, a Robert Half subsidiary, in helping to provide a seamless customer experience for clients and candidates. “One thing I’ve embraced and championed is the ability to bring all of what Robert Half has to offer together, and to put our clients, candidates and colleagues up front,” he says.
A strong focus on community service
Outside of work, George, in addition to spending time with his family, is committed to community service. He’s involved with several nonprofit organizations, including the Food Bank of the Rockies, Ronald McDonald House, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. George and his wife, Kelly, also deliver meals to terminally ill patients through Project Angel Heart.
Additionally, George is a champion of diversity and inclusion. He’s the executive sponsor for the Somos Familia Employee Network Group at Robert Half and our company’s partnership with the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA).
George is also an avid backcountry skier and mountain biker. “I believe in ‘work hard and play hard,’” he says. “The rigorous physical activity helps bring balance to my life.”
George adds, “I also strive to maintain a mindset of passion, persistence and a positive attitude.”
