    Robert Half are working in partnership with a reputable education institution in Edinburgh to help with the recruitment of a Finance Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the financial's of the organisation. This role presents an exciting and challenging working environment where your expertise will contribute to the success of the institution.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Advise on general financial policy within the Institution;
    • Maintain the financial accounts of the Institution in accordance with the charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) and UK GAAP
    • Prepare the consolidated statutory annual accounts for the Institution, trading subsidiaries and Alumni
    • Prepare the annual budget in consultation with the Bursar;
    • Monitor income and expenditure in relation to budget and present termly management accounts to the Board of Governors
    • Prepare students' bills and collecting all fees and extras
    • Pay all salaries and wages, including PAYE, Superannuation, National Insurance Contributions and any other payroll deductions, and ensure compliance with regulations for P11D benefits in kind and PAYE settlement agreement
    • Administer pension schemes for both teaching and non-teaching staff
    • Scrutinise and pass for payment all invoices received in the Institution
    • Keep statistical records
    • Prepare forecasts for the future financial performance of the Institution
    • In conjunction with external advisors, to advise on bursary funds and administer the assessments of income and assets prior to making bursary awards

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Professional Qualification: CA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships within the finance team and with external stakeholders such as lenders, shareholders, suppliers, operations, and local authorities.
    • Proactive Approach: Proactively identify and implement process improvements, contributing to the continuous enhancement of financial operations.
