Reporting to senior leadership, you'll manage the Group consolidation process, oversee budgeting and forecasting activities, and maintain robust financial systems and controls, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards. This role also provides exposure to listed company reporting, tax compliance, and international group activities, allowing you to develop a deep understanding of finance operations across a growing group structure.

    The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have honed their skills in a practice or listed environment, with experience in consolidations and listed company compliance. You should bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work efficiently across multidisciplinary teams. Autonomy, accuracy, and reliability are essential, as this role carries high responsibility and visibility within the organisation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the consolidation of Group monthly management accounts and develop a standardised internal reporting framework.
    • Drive the standardisation and consolidation of the Group budget and forecasting process.
    • Support the preparation of Group Annual Reports & Accounts under IFRS, including year-end file preparation.
    • Manage corporation tax processes, acting as the point of coordination for external tax advisers.
    • Oversee the preparation and support of the annual audit process for Group subsidiaries.
    • Maintain accurate ledgers, including month-end journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations, and adherence to authorisation controls.
    • Enhance and maintain standardised financial and operational controls across the Group.
    • Provide insightful monthly and ad-hoc management reporting.
    • Review VAT returns and ensure compliance with Group and subsidiary filings for National Statistics and other statutory obligations.

    Skills and Experience Required:

The successful Group Accountant will be required to have the following:

    • Essential:
      • Fully qualified ACA/ACCA (likely trained in practice).
      • Degree qualified.
      • Extensive knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, with hands-on experience in group consolidations and reporting within listed companies.
      • Strong understanding of UK taxation and reporting requirements.
      • Proven ability to work with autonomy, carefully balancing attention to detail with broader-group deadlines.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with stakeholders.
    • Desirable:
      • Experience with international Group reporting and operations.

    What is on Offer:

    • Competitive salary between £60,000 - £70,000 and benefits package to attract top-tier talent.
    • An opportunity to take ownership of a critical finance function in a listed company environment.
    • Challenging and rewarding work within a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative organisation.
    • The chance to influence, improve, and implement financial processes at a Group level.
