In House Legal Counsel<p>Our client, a software company based in Edmonton, is looking for a detail-oriented and driven In-House Legal Counsel with strong business acumen. This position involves managing contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and offering strategic legal advice to support business objectives.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Draft, review, negotiate, and amend client and vendor contracts.</li><li>Ensure compliance with contract terms and manage renewals.</li><li>Address operational, financial, and practical concerns in contracts.</li><li>Monitor legislation, industry standards, and best practices to ensure compliance.</li><li>Identify and mitigate corporate risks through effective strategies.</li><li>Develop and improve compliance controls and team training programs.</li><li>Investigate and resolve privacy complaints.</li><li>Ensure adherence to privacy legislation and corporate policies.</li><li>Provide legal counsel to support strategic decisions.</li><li>Administer the Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP).</li><li>Oversee insurance and vendor services.</li></ul>Senior Employment Lawyer<p>Our client is a busy litigation firm with multiple offices across Canada. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial-spirited Senior Employment Lawyer with a minimum of 5 years of experience. The successful candidate will have experience representing plaintiffs in employment law matters, with a background in contingency-based work.</p><p> </p><p>The ideal candidate will also have:</p><ul><li>A minimum of 5 years of plaintiff-side experience, ideally in employment law</li><li>Experienced with contingency-based work</li><li>Good standing with the Law Society of BC</li><li>LLB or equivalent law degree</li><li>Self-sufficient and ability work with minimal supervision</li><li>Employment law experience considered an asset </li></ul>
