We are seeking a Payroll Clerk to be based in Waterloo, Ontario. This role primarily entails overseeing payroll operations for a diverse team, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and addressing any payroll-related inquiries. This position offers an exciting opportunity in a dynamic setting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee payroll procedures for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Manage bi-weekly payroll for various employee types, including salaried, hourly, unionized, and piecework employees
• Compile relevant payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance, and other deductions
• Work closely with other departments like Human Resources to maintain up-to-date employee files
• Assist employees with necessary forms such as employment records, income tax forms, and remittances
• Respond to internal and external payroll inquiries in a timely and detail oriented manner
• Ensure timely creation and distribution of T4s
• Participate in activities aimed at improving operational efficiency and quality
• Handle general payroll inquiries via voicemail and email, providing excellent customer service
• Utilize various payroll software systems to streamline operations.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a payroll clerk role or a similar position.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Benefit Functions.
• Experience with Automated Payroll systems.
• Understanding of Payroll - Union and its intricacies.
• Familiarity with Canadian Payroll regulations and requirements.
• Previous experience managing Payroll for over 500 Employees.
• Ability to perform various Payroll Functions efficiently.
• Proficiency in using Payroll software.
• Experience in processing Bi-weekly Payroll.
