We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in Waterloo, Ontario. This role operates within a fast-paced environment requiring the handling of high-volume payroll processing for a large number of employees.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough audits on payroll reports to ensure accuracy
• Import data from billing files into the payroll system, identifying and rectifying any discrepancies
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of hours for all employees
• Compile critical payroll data and reports, including garnishments, vacation time, insurance, and other deductions
• Collaborate with departments such as Human Resources to maintain up-to-date employee files
• Support employees by providing necessary forms such as records of employment, income tax forms, and remittances
• Act as the primary point of contact for employee and government agency inquiries
• Oversee the creation and timely distribution of T4s
• Participate in activities aimed at improving quality and operational efficiency
• Handle general payroll inquiries via voicemail and email, demonstrating strong customer service skills
• Utilize a customized software package and basic Excel skills for data entry and management.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a payroll processing role.
• Proficiency in Auditing to ensure accurate payroll records.
• Excellent Data Entry skills, with a focus on precision and speed.
• Strong Customer Service abilities to handle queries and concerns about payroll.
