We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Investment Accountant to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Finance, you will play a pivotal role in managing fund and investment accounting, ensuring the integrity of accounting records and financial reporting in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This position includes preparing financial statements and Management Reports of Fund Performance (MRFP), maintaining subscriber capital ledger accounts, and analyzing financial data for accuracy and completeness.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Senior Investment Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Developing, maintaining, and implementing financial and operational standards, policies, and procedures
- Preparing and reviewing monthly internal financial statements
- Leading month-end, semi-annual, and year-end close processes
- Overseeing all transactions related to the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Assisting external auditors during the year-end financial statement audit
- Preparing monthly allocation of income for financial statements and reviewing journal entries
- Coordinating monthly account reconciliations and resolving reconciling items on time
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS in maintaining financial records
- Driving process improvement initiatives and working on continuous improvement projects with senior management
• Post-secondary diploma/degree in Business/Accounting/Finance and CPA designation
• 3-5 years of experience in Investment Fund Accounting or related experience
• Investment fund industry and trust accounting experience an asset
• Experience with Oracle financials or other accounting software an asset
• Excellent technical competency and advanced accounting skills, financial controls, and reconciliation skills
• Knowledge of investment products and investment fund accounting
• Self-starter, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
