Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for an initial 6-month contract. This role requires strong expertise in both Windows and Linux environments and will focus on maintaining their server infrastructure, virtual environments, and cloud services. You'll be working with a modern stack that includes Azure, VMware, Citrix, and Automox.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Windows Server (full Microsoft stack) and Linux server environments.
• Support and manage Azure, Active Directory (AD), and PowerShell scripting for automation and task management.
• Oversee server patch management—currently using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (ECM), transitioning to AUTOMOX.
• Manage and maintain VMware virtualization platforms.
• Support and enhance Citrix environments, particularly for virtual desktops and application delivery.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance across server, virtualization, and cloud environments.
• Ensure system security, backup, and disaster recovery processes are in place and effective.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server administration and Linux systems.
• Proficiency with Azure, Active Directory, and PowerShell for scripting and automation.
• Experience with server patching tools like Microsoft ECM/AUTOMOX.
• Solid expertise in VMware environments, including deployment, management, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop) for application and desktop virtualization.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in virtualized and cloud-based environments.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
