Infrastructure Managers are responsible for the planning, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of IT systems and personnel. These systems are typically the ones that enable customer-facing IT departments to do their jobs.

They are also responsible for:

What skills and qualifications should an Infrastructure Manager have?

While a tertiary education in computer science or software development is recommended, it is not necessary. Instead, Infrastructure Managers should be able to demonstrate:

Management experience

Budgeting and recruitment experience

In-depth knowledge of servers and networks, data organisation, and both hard- and software

Experience in business analytics or administration

Client relations

Previous experience within IT infrastructure
