Key responsibilities of a Senior Automation Test Analyst include:

Leading the development and maintenance of scalable, reusable automated test frameworks and scripts

Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, high-quality deployments

Defining test automation strategy, coverage, and tool selection in collaboration with QA and development teams

Performing end-to-end, regression, performance, and API testing across diverse platforms

Ensuring compliance with the NZ Privacy Act, ISO 27001, and secure coding standards during test execution

Mentoring junior testers and contributing to skills development across the QA function

Collaborating with developers, product owners, and business analysts to define quality goals and acceptance criteria

Documenting test architecture, processes, and test results for audit readiness and continuous improvement

Automation Manual Test Analyst job qualifications and requirements

A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is required. ISTQB Advanced or Test Automation Engineer certification is preferred.

Requirements include:

5+ years’ experience in test automation, including enterprise-level systems

Expertise in automation tools and languages (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JavaScript, Python, Java)

Proven experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)

Strong understanding of API testing, performance testing, and data-driven testing techniques

Familiarity with New Zealand privacy and cybersecurity regulations in testing environments

Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills

Ability to lead test strategy and influence quality assurance practices across agile teams
